oh dahl...

When I said I felt like dahl, I didn't mean this much...

What was the recipe thinking?

(And yes, that's after we ate some of it, and yes, it tastes better than it looks, but no, it isn't as good as our favourite Indian store. Maybe because we're imagining how bored we'll be with dahl by the end of that saucepan!)

I guess next time, you should make 1/4 of a batch!

Maybe you can freeze it and have it again in a month or so.

We can buy dahl and various other Indian concoctions in foil packets that you boil in water for five minutes and serve.

Dinner for two, quick and easy!

I'd try freezing some, or invite all the neighbours around :)
Looks yummy!

I don't know what dahl is, but it sure looks yummy!

Dahl is an Indian lentil dish - an accompaniment for curry (or 'accomliment' as our friendly Indian restaurant menu declares), since it isn't hot itself. Just deliciously flavoursome. This one has red and brown lentils, and yellow and green split peas. 3/4 cup of each, which is where the quantity problem lies. Sigh. I was surely in denial there.

I have thought of offering tastings to everyone who doesn't know what dahl is (Pam you might be too far away I'm sorry... but there were lots at work who'd never heard of it), but I froze it in three separate containers and filled my tiny freezer! Here's hoping freezing it doesn't ruin it.

Welcome mike s! I've seen you commenting over at angela's. Alas my blogging hours are steadily reducing, so I'm not cruising around to new blogs so much, but I'll happen by yours at the next free moment. :)

Eek, sorry Cec only just got a chance to check in - Tuesday turned out to be a fizzer. Maybe tonight? Email me please if that suits (your email address is lost with our old computer which is why I'm resorting to commenting)
